LATEST NEWS CUP FINAL DATES & VENUES The London & Kent Border League can now confirm the dates & venues of this years cup finals. Last year all finals were played at Bromley's ground, this year the finals will be staged at Dulwich & Hamlets ground aswell. The dates and matches are as followed: 13th April - 7.30pm Kick Off - JUNIOR CUP FINAL (BROMLEY) 21st April - 7.30pm Kick Off - INTER CUP FINAL (DULWICH) 27th April - 7.30pm Kick Off - SENIOR CUP FINAL (BROMLEY) 4th May - 7.30pm Kick Off - MARY WILTSHIRE SHIELD (DULWICH) Their will also still be a reserve cup final, date and venue will be announced at a later date. SEASON 2005/6 NEW TEAMS WANTED The London & Kent Border League are now accepting applications from teams for the forthcoming season. If you are interested in joining this league or want further information then please contact Ian Wallis the General Secretary on 01689 860980. 1995/96 CENTAURS 2 V 4 ELTHAM MWS CUP FINAL (THE VALLEY) Did you play in this game, or even watch it ??? If so maybe you can help. LKB hired a company to video tape the game, however the company soon after went bust. Did anyone else record the match if so please contact us. DEADLINE DAY As the football transfer window opens, LKB would like to remind all teams that no player can be transferred or registered after the last day of February. So far just over 16,000 players have been registered and only 1 player has been transferred. The rise of the website is growing at a rapid rate, so fast that in less than a year we have hit over 100,000 hits on this website. Below in some facts and figures that will amaze you. The website was launched between Jan / Feb 2004, in the first month we got 89 hits !!! In October we got 37,758 hits thats averaging 1,218 hits per day. That is triple our highest recorded month which was in September. that month we recorded 10,558 hits. NEW SECTION ADDED (25.11.04) I have added an additional page to this site, this page is names ARTICLES and can be located on the menu bar at the top of this page. Over time their will be various reports from LKB members, be it committee members, players, refs in fact anyone can write an article and send it to us. It can be praising opposition teams. Your thoughts on the league season. We start with an article written by Bob Hill who despite moving to Jersey 13 years ago still keeps in touch with the goings on of LKB coutesey of Michael Burke sending him a newsletter every month. I am also still waiting for Ian Wallis to write an article of a very famous Ex-England / Arsenal record breaking strikers story of how he was discovered playing in the LKB League. APOLOGY TO GOOD FOR THE GAME (22.11.04) Newsletter editor Michael Burke wishes to apologise to Inter One team "Good For The Game" for the article in Novembers newsletter. The article published stated that on 17th October in the MWS Shield, in the match between Good For The Game v STC. The match was abandoned in the 84th minute, however Good For the Game were not responsible for the games abandonment as stated in the news letter, and therefore LKB would like to apologise to Mick Pearce and the other members of the team for any embarrassment caused. REFEREES COURSE London & Kent Border League are running a referees course at their headquarters in Blackheath. The course is being run by Peter Amos & Chris Tapping of South of the Thames & Woolwich Referee Society. The details of the course are as follows:
