The History of the Inter Cup
The Intermediate Cup was inaugurated with the inception of the league in 1964.The First winners were Crusaders. New Beach won the trophy in consecutive years 1977-78 and 1978-79.In fact of all the runners up only two clubs, Bellgrove and Germains also won the cup.Bellgrove won the cup in its Second year 1965-66 beating Mansion 2-1 and came runners up in 1987-88 losing 1-0 to Rodney Sports.Germains in 1982-83 came runners up loosing 7-6 to Tanners, the highest score in a final, the was equalled in 1995-96 when brook lane beat kenningwell United Reserves. Centaurs played twice in the final on both occasions finishing as Runners Up 1984-85 & 2007-08 as did Kenningwell united Reserves in 1995-96 & 1997-98 but did go on to lift the trophy in 1989-90. The only two teams to lift the trophy twice are New Beach 1977-78 and 1978-79 and Eltham Town 1999-00 & 2000-01, oddly enough both teams won the cup on consecutive seasons
