The History of the Senior Cup
The Delphis Leaugue was formed in 1964. Changing its name to the London and Kent Border Leaugue (LKB) 1N 1970.The League started with 16 teams and the first Cup to be played for in 1964 was the Senior Cup. Since the leaugue has grew in size only teams playing in the Senior Premier division and senior divisions are eligible to enter this competition. Standing 23 inches high and 13 inches wide. the cup is based on the shape of the Fa Cup. The First final was won by Crusaders who beat the then famous Two-Seven Nine Club 5-3.
The Senior Cup was our first final to be played at a professional ground when in 1992-93 Centaurs FC beat Lesann 4-2 at the Valley hone of Charlton Athletic. Seven clubs have won the trophy twice but only 5 have won it three times; Lesann Utd,Camberwell,Eltham United,Springhill Utd and Kenningwell Utd. Eltham United won the trophy in 1995,1996 &1997 while Springhill won it the following 3 years. The Highest winning margin was achieved in 1979/80 when Grove neat Kensell Villa 7-0.Kenningwell United were runners Up in 1987/88 and again in 1993/94 before lifting the trophy in the new Millennium three times 2001-02,2004-05 and 2006-09 and were runners up in 2006-07.
Mottingham Village were runners up in 2003-04 loosing 1-0 to Team Asylum and again in 2004-05 loosing to Kenningwell utd 5-3 on Penalty Kicks.
Baldon Sports were Runners Up in 2006-07 and won the trophy twice in 2005-06 and again in 2007-08.
