The History of the Junior Cup
The Delphis League was formed in 1964, changing its name to the London and Kent Border League (LKB) IN 1970.The Junior Cup was the third cup to be inaugurated coming into existence in 1968.the first winners of the cup were Kenningwell utd who beat City Amateurs 2-1 who also lost in the final the following season. Kenningwell Utd again won the cup in 1971-72.the record attendance for a LKB final is for the 1979-80 Junior Cup Final when nearly 500 spectators turned up to watch john F Kennedy FC beat Anerley park FC 3-1 at the old Dulwich Hamlets Ground. The only two clubs that have won the trophy twice are Marshall fc who won it in 1987-88 & 1988-89 and Eltham Town2005-06 & 2006-07.Both are the only clubs to appear in consecutive Junior Cup Finals. Bostall Rangers have appeared in 3 finals loosing in 1996-97 and 1998-99 but lifting the trophy in 2002-03.The Highest Score in a Junior Cup Final was achieved by City wanderers when they beat Northbrook Reserves 7-0 in 1981-82.
